Hello. I am certified to teach mathematics to grades 7-12. I earned my Bachelors Degree at Henderson State University and a Masters Degree from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. While at these schools, I studied under many professors. These professors taught me many things; mathematics, educational practices, history, science, and art to name a few. I fully believe that teachers should avoid lecturing to students when at all possible. Students learn best through experience and that is how we should teach. I write my lessons to be engaging and fun, when possible. I use research when I plan lessons. Knowing the latest research on your subject is how teachers stay relevant and improve their teaching skills. I also believe that we should use technology. We live in the twenty-first century. We are surrounded by technology every day. However, this does not mean that we should be dependent on technology. Technology can still make mistakes. I believe that to fully understand mathematics, one has to know how do the process on paper.
As of May 2018, I am also the Senior Beta Club sponsor for CMS. We plan on doing many exciting things. Please check out what we are doing.
